The food was Great! I had the fish & chips special which was light, not heavy at all for a fried meal. The waitress never came back to check on us with our food so I didn't get to ask for malt vinager which I prefer with my fish & chips. Hubby got the Burger special that was fresh ground meat from their market near town and topped with blue cheese, onion rings, lettuse, mayo and tomato. We went for a late lunch and the place was not very busy. We had to wait about 3 minutes to be acknowledged and seated. The waitress never smiled and was indifferent toward us. Upon returning home I smell tobacco on my shirt, yet we did not even see anyone smoking while we were there. The food was great and we will try it a couple more times before writting it off due to lack of service.

A local Brew Pub with a great twist on the food. Handcrafted beers are the best way to go here, why settle for something you can get anywhere when you can have something deliciously made by the establishment. Any dessert is worth a try on your tastebuds, I've even had some packaged to go when I didn't have room to fit it in after dinner. The Cheddar & Ale soup is a great starter, or you can just enjoy the hot bread and scallion butter. We have enjoyed every dish we have ordered so far from their burgers, Brewery steak sandwich and fish & chips. The twist is just an upscale presentaion on some of the dishes and the overall style & taste of the preperation. I have had good to great service from all the wait staff except for one which was very poor and the second try with that person was fair. Overall, every part of the menu is great, service could use a bit more (depending on the person).

This place is an old-fashioned stainless steel trailer, that is a unique greasy spoon. They serve everything on their menu 24/7. My favorite breakfast is the "Hippie Hash", it is so fun to see peoples faces when you recommend the Hippie Hash considering all the perceptions people have of Ann Arbor. Hippie Hash is a great blend of hashbrowns, various veggies and feta cheese, Yummy! A couple of dishes I like from the rest of the menu have always been the Bacon Cheeseburger and the Grilled Chicken on Pita. If you head this way after the bars close you can also be entertained with a very interesting crowd.

I'm addicted to their Chicago dogs, just like they are made in Chicago. They have a fun selection of other dogs, along with burgers and items for the vegetarians as well. Their fries are crispy, but they use beans in their chili =( They don't open until 11 or 12 (depending on the day) but they are now staying open until 4am for the college late nighters. It looks like a hole in the wall, but to me those have the best food.

I haven't gone to the other chocolate shops that have appeared recently. There is no reason, Kilwin's has amazing sweets. Mouth watering everything. Fresh Raspberry & Blackberry candys. Packaged goodies for gifts, or a chewy bearclaw for a favorite waitress down the street as a tip. You can't ask for a better way to buy local.

There is something for everyone in here. Retro candy, gag gifts, kitchen supplies, toys, household/office cleaning supplies, toys, bags & clothing, and Toys. Even a grown man can find some chattering teeth that he must have in here. Don't forget to pick up a back scratcher too.

When you come up to the door of this store look down and to the right and you will see a little fairy door. This door leads to a fairy version of the store. When you walk into the store turn to your right, look down and right and you will see a little stool and windows to the fairy store. If the light is out, just flip the light switch and take a peek inside.
While you are there support a local business by browsing and purchasing some fun toys, or gifts. Great little items for giving.

Concerts, performaces, movies, live entertainment. There is something for everyone (including families) at this festival. Check out their website for all the events.
In Middle school and High school I would go to Top of the Park were they would show the free movies. It was actally on top of the dental school parking lot. The movie was projected onto the back wall of the elevator shaft. They have redone the parking structure and these events are now done in the Ingalls Mall area in front of the Racham Graduate School. In the new space it has grown even cooler! More live performance and entertainment groups.
Top of the Park events are free, while some of the shows and performances at the Michigan theater or Power Center have a fee. Enjoy!

There are actually a few Art Fairs involved in this massive take over of the city, but they all come together for a whole lot of art and people.
I have never missed an Art Fair since I was born. My dad was in the Original Art Fair (on East University) when I was a kid, he did metal sculptures. The diversity in the art available is amazing, something for everyone, and some of the prices are affordable for the working person. All the stores have sales, and people watching is quite enjoyable.
I recommend parking away from town and taking a bus in. The Mall offers Art Fair shuttles for those not from the area or familiar with our public transit system. I hop on the bus from home and just enjoy someone else driving me into town =)
Were comfortable clothing and shoes. There are lots of people as the day moves on, and you never know what the weather will be like, so be comfortable.

I have been going to JG since 1990 and have never been disappointed. I got my husband hooked at the beginning of our relationship. The have the best Falafel hands down! I've tried other places, but nothing tastes better. We buy their Hummus to go for gatherings and everyone loves it. We now eat there about once a week. Who needs a menu, not us. About a year ago I just started telling our waitstaff to just make me something, everything is good that comes out of that kitchen so I'll eat it. It is a wonderfully layed back place with patio seating in the summer, great for people watching. If you want some meat in your meal and some spice, try the chicken shawarma! They also have a salad with rice pilaf, fattoush with fried pita, and chicken (the kind from the shawarma), I like to get a side of shawarma sauce as a dressing, wonderful! Great for vegans and meat eaters alike.

Got the Hubby out to eat some Thai with me. We pulled this resteraunt up online to check out the menu and really enjoyed how simple the menu was. The resteraunt has a fun history too.
It is not a sit down with waitstaff, you order your food and they call you up when it is ready.
Hubby went for weak sauce on his dish, I went for medium. Must remember that with Thai food medium is equal to american hot. It was nice to have a cup of Thai tea with the food. There is milk in Thai tea to help sooth the heat of the spices.
Overall a good meal with a good amount of food for the cost. I would go there again :)

This restaurant hides in a small strip of stores, but it is worth the find. They have the BEST Cheese Steak Hoagie in the area. I have been eating there since I was young. I have tried Cheese steak hoagies at other places, but nothing compares to Izzy’s. I have introduced people to Izzy’s Hoagie shop and they have fell in love with the Cheese steaks. Even a gal I worked with that was from New Jersey gave her stamp of approval when I brought them in for lunch.
